“It may not have provided me solutions during the board exam, but it provided me proactive approach and proper mindset in dealing one of the greatest battles in my life.”
I just want to thank you for publishing/writing the book Outsmart the Board Exam.
It helped in me many ways: discipline, perseverance and grit, the 80/20 rule, pomodoro technique, delayed gratification, 3Ds approach, to name a few. It may not have provided me solutions during the board exam, but it provided me proactive approach and proper mindset in dealing one of the greatest battles in my life.
I want to commend you for underscoring that success (passing/license) is the only option. I may not have entered the top 10, but the learnings and scholastic strategies were more than enough to suffice the thirst for topnotch position. The situations were also relatable. Minsan natatakuwa nalang ako because I thought I was the one described in your book. But above all, this book was made for all, and not just a few select.
Please continue writing. Your examples are quite life-changing and relational. Ganda din ng graphics and drawings. I highly recommend this book! I would always find myself reading this over again.
Kudos for this piece of blessing. God bless you! Padayon!

“In less than a year, dalawa na agad licenses ko kahit self-review lang ako.”
Gusto kong magbago habang may oras pa and reading your book was my first step.
In less than a year, dalawa na agad licenses ko kahit self-review lang ako.

“You become your strongest version after you conquer your lowest point.”
Thank you for creating this one-of-a-kind book. The first self-development book I have read. Jam-packed sa dami ng lessons!
I requested this as a birthday gift from my parents back in 2019. May P500 gift sila sakin. Out of all things, this one really captivated my attention back then. Feel ko talaga badly needed ko to.
During my 5th year 1st semester, sabi ko sa sarili ko na gusto ko maranasan maging Dean’s Lister. Kahit isang beses lang bago ako magtapos. With the help of this book, I made it!
2021 was a very dreadful year for me. Lots of things happened. I got positve for Covid. I took the November 2021 CE Board Exam na nilalagnat (sadly, I failed this exam). I also lost people very dear to me. I felt that I was at my lowest. I re-read the book again, tumagos sakin ‘to: ‘You are capable of surviving great pains and sorrows. You become your strongest version after you conquer your lowest point.’
Year 2022, with the help of this book, I re-engineered my life for the better. It woke up my deepest desire, kung bakit ko gusto maging Engineer. To have the courage to pursue my dreams. To give my all for my parents. To have a growth mindset. To think long-term and aim for long lasting rewards. To trust the Snowball Effect. To Suffer now and live the rest of my life as an Engineer.
Nag-oath taking na din last June 10, 2022. We will be celebrating my birthday and also the passing of the board exam.
This book is a Gem. One of the favorite things I bought. Thank you sir, for passing the torch of innovation. I really want that autograph I requested 3 years ago.

“To our future professionals na nagtatanong kung paano magsisimula sa review o ano ba ang dapat gawin, this book is the compilation of all the answers you need.”
Nakita ko na ang Outsmart the Board Exam way back December 2019 while I preparing for the Master Plumber Board Exam. That time, sobrang unmotivated akong mag review at walang direction. Dagdag pa na may day time work ako as a project engineer, college instructor sa gabi at grad school student kapag weekends. Halos wala na akong time para makapagfocus.
At first hesitant pa ako mag-purchase dahil maraming clickbait sa social media. But when I started reading it, nahook agad ako. The book was really informative and helpful. Before the tips for the board exam, the author first detailed the common reasons why some of us unfortunately don’t pass board exams – The Six Common Ways How Others Failed their Board Exams. And we are all guilty of doing the wrong things we do at some point during our days of review.
To our future professionals na nagtatanong kung paano magsisimula sa review o ano ba ang dapat gawin, this book is the compilation of all the answers you need. It will boost your confidence and prepare you on your upcoming board exams.
Salamat sa author for writing this book. May you continue to inspire others. God bless our future engineers!

“To be honest it’s not just about tips on how to pass the boards. It also led me to greater realizations… I was able to set my priorities every day.”
It was tough, but with the tips given in this book, it became easier. I decided to purchase one.
No’ng magstart na kasi ang review, wala talaga akong idea kung paano ko ba isosort lahat ng task and review materials. Anong uunahin, ilan ang kailangan tapusin, and everything.
Meaning, I have the control na sa time ko kapag weekdays kaya namanage kong ituloy yung pagbabasa ko. I was able to set my priorities every day. Although hindi naging madali, pero I am really convinced with what I learned from this book.
Thank you to the book. It’s all worth it!

Thank you very much Engr. Virata! Parati nalang po last minute study ginagawa ko during my college days.

Not too much, JUST RIGHT!”
“Goldilock’s rule.. Then it hit me na, ay sandali, Goldilocks rule! Not too much, JUST RIGHT! Sir ang laking tulong po nun!
Thank you so much for your book at the same time thank you so much po sa inyo!

Sir Engr. I passed the CE board exam! Thank you sa libro mong Outsmart The Board Exam Sir. It really helped me a lot. Napaka informative niya sir, and I think others need to read it. Favorite ko dun sa libro niyo sir yung Snowball Effect and the Delayed Gratification. And ginawa ko din Engr yung Pomodoro Technique, and malaki yung impact niya sakin nung nagrereview ako. Maraming salamat Engr dahil naisip niyong gumawa ng ganung libro. I will encourage my friends to buy your book. Thank you so much Sir!

“Yung kontin investment nayon is worth it po talaga.”
Hello po Engr. Rucel. Thank you very much po.
Sabi nila mag solve lang nang mag solve, so I tried. Yung kontin investment nayon is worth it po talaga. Nag monggo everyday po ako that week. Hahaha.
Nainspire po talaga ako and i will use this profession po pra makatulong. Thank you 3000 po! God bless!

“I just read some parts and it really helped me especially in managing my limited time.”
Thank you Engr. sa book ninyo. I availed the book a month before our board exam. I just read some parts and it really helped me especially in managing my limited time.
God bless you!

At siyempre marami pang ibang study techniques.

Thank you po!

Napilitan ako magwork for almost 1 year.
Work smart, work hard, time management, at planned schedule. Inapply ko ang Snowball Effect, Delayed Gratification atsaka Pomodoro Technique. From 50 to 100 to 200 problems per day, palagi akong nasosolve. At siyempre, mastering of basic topics. Nawawalan man minsan ng motivation, basta may discipline kinaya parin.
“Do your best and God will do the rest,” ika nga. Thank you sa book dahil kahit nagsabay ang aking work and review ay naipasa ko parin ang aking board exam. More power po!

“I wanted to sacrifice a \”gala in the present\” to a \”lifetime of being an engineer.\””
Registered Civil Engineer na po ako ngayon! Malaki naitulong ng book na Outsmart the Board Exam!
I remember when I purchased your book last 2020. It’s highly recommended to read it before preparing for the board exam. It will guide you to the right path, kung paano mag-umpisa sa review.
Pinaka tumatak sakin ang linyang, “if you don’t sacrifice for your dreams, those dreams will become the sacrifice.” I wanted to sacrifice a “gala in the present” to a “lifetime of being an engineer.”
Thank you for the book. God bless po!

“It’s a must-read for anyone who doesn’t know where and how to start the review.”
I have finished reading Outsmart the Board Exam before my online review started. The book have taught me a lot. I must say that the content was on point. It’s a must-read for anyone who doesn’t know where and how to start the review. It was like my warmup before I undergo the exhausting and tiresome battle.
During the course of review, I applied and followed the tips mentioned. Most of my study habits was based on the principles taught in the book. Honestly, I have learned to develop my self-esteem and I think this is what helped me survive my endeavor. It became my guidance and source of motivation whenever I felt lethargic.
I really would like to thank the author for the wisdom and insights you imparted to the readers of your book. I hope that you’ll continue to be a big help to aspiring engineers in achieving their goals. May God always bless you!

Well Prepared, Mr. Less Prepared, and Mr. Unprepared.”
God bless po sa inyo palagi Engr. Virata.

“Small progress is also progress.”
Good Afternoon Engr, I just want thank you because I was able to read this book.
I am a first taker and being a first taker is not that easy. It’s quite a challenge for me kaya sobrang sobrang pasalamat ko po sa book niyo kasi tinuruan talaga ako nito paano i-prioritize yung mga dapat kong gawin. The Snowball Effect na parang basic lang pero if you put your heart on it, maiintindihan mo talaga yung maliliit na bagay ay may malaking impact din pala sa huli. It really helped me in my studies. Small progress is also progress. Delayed Gratification which is to focus on the things that I need to prioritize and to receive the grand prize at the end. The Memory Palace Technique which is to store what I learn and to recall it eventually.
Sobrang inspiring ng book niyo. For all the figures and diagrams, it must have taken effort to make this book. Thank you po talaga.
Lastly yung tumatak sa utak ko, “If you don’t sacrifice for your dreams, those dreams will be the sacrifice” kaya binigay ko talaga yung best ko for this licensure examination. Thank you po ulit!
