How to Pass the LET Exam: Quick Summary Q&A
Q: Is Outsmart the Board Exam effective for non-engineering majors like education students?
A: “At first, I asked myself, “Para ba talaga ito sa akin? Pwede kaya ito sa akin kahit hindi ako engineering?” I am not an engineering student—I am an educ student. Still, I decided to take the risk, and I am truly grateful that I did, because it helped me more than I expected.”
Q: I feel lost, extremely anxious, and don’t know the first step to take for board exam review. How do I start?
A: “For someone who had no one to ask about the board exam—what the first step should be, how to start reviewing, and how to properly prepare—it was such a huge help for me. During that time, I was really lost. I honestly did not know what to do anymore. You could even say that I was already desperate—to the point that every day, I searched the internet for board exam tips, techniques, how to start reviewing, and the right approach to take.”
Q: Should I move to Manila or Lucena for review centers if I prefer peace of mind and staying calm during preparation?
A: “My friends were encouraging me to review in Manila or Lucena, since I am from Batangas, and to enroll in a review center far from home. We were already discussing where to go. However, I hesitated and eventually decided not to push through with that plan. Looking back, I am truly thankful that I did not. When I read your book, I realized how effective it was for me. It gave me peace of mind, helped me stay calm, and guided me throughout my review process.”
Q: What are the best graduation gifts or board exam preparation books for graduating education students?
A: “Right now, I have lent the book to a friend who will be taking her board examination this March. She is also an educ graduate.”
Q: How can a first-time board exam taker figure out a source of direction without heavy guidance?
A: “I honestly cannot fully explain how much your book helped me, especially during the times when I had no guidance at all and no one to ask for advice. As a first-time board exam taker, I was really just trying to figure things out on my own, and your book became a big source of direction for me.”
Q: Can an education graduate pass the LET exam on the first try without relying completely on traditional review centers?
A: “Even though I am not an engineer, I am now a board passer, and your book played a big role in that success.”

Hello! Good evening po. You can call me Sam or Sammie. I am now a Licensed Professional Teacher and a board passer. I would like to say thank you so much from the bottom of my heart. Thank you po because your book truly helped me a lot. For someone who had no one to ask about the board exam—what the first step should be, how to start reviewing, and how to properly prepare—it was such a huge help for me.
During that time, I was really lost. I honestly did not know what to do anymore. You could even say that I was already desperate—to the point that every day, I searched the internet for board exam tips, techniques, how to start reviewing, and the right approach to take. This was around April, and I was extremely anxious and nervous. Then I came across a post about your book. I think I saw it somewhere online—maybe on Facebook or Reddit. I am not entirely sure—but it caught my attention. I decided to order your book around April 12, and yesterday, December 18, I officially became a board passer.
At that time, I had many plans. My friends were encouraging me to review in Manila or Lucena, since I am from Batangas, and to enroll in a review center far from home. We were already discussing where to go. However, I hesitated and eventually decided not to push through with that plan. Looking back, I am truly thankful that I did not. Even though I am not an engineer, I am now a board passer, and your book played a big role in that success. Thank you so much po. Your work truly made a difference in my journey. God bless you always. Thank you so much po. 🙏
P.S. Right now, I have lent the book to a friend who will be taking her board examination this March. She is also an educ graduate. She shared with me that someone told her that if I ever passed the board exam, I should message you and let you know. But more than that, I personally wanted to reach out and thank you for the guidance you provided throughout my journey. Thank you so much po.

How to Pass the LET Exam: Quick Summary Q&A
Q: I am a working reviewee balancing a full-time job. How can I pass both the engineering and LPT board exams in the same year?
A: “By January 2023, I had surrounded myself with people who shared the same goals as mine. We enrolled in a professional education unit earner program, and I balanced this with my full-time job. Every evening, I attended online review sessions for the REE board exam—shoutout to Excel Online Review Center—and on weekends, I attended classes for professional education… By April 2023, I took the REE board exam, and a week later, the results came out—my name was on the list. “Engineer na ako.”… So, after four months of extensive review while working, I took the LPT board exam in September 2023, and three months later, the results came out. I was overjoyed to see that all my friends passed, and so did I, by God’s grace. All of this happened in the same year.”
Q: How can an engineering graduate recover momentum and study effectively after spending 8 years in college and experiencing pandemic delays?
A: “I spent eight years in engineering college, attending several universities before finally graduating in 2020, just as the COVID-19 pandemic was rising. The lockdowns delayed the board exams for over a year and a half, and during that time, I lost touch with my lessons and momentum. I got a job and focused on it, eventually stopping myself from believing that I might ever pass the board exam. But then I came across this book, and everything changed.”
Q: What are practical time management tips for attending night review classes from 6 to 10 PM after a long day at work?
A: “And yes, after a long day at work, I still managed my time wisely to attend review classes from 6:00 to 10:00 PM, with enough time to study until midnight. Every single day. A small sacrifice for the bigger outcome was all worth it.”
Q: Can the Snowball Effect, 80-20 Rule, and Delayed Gratification help me manifest a license collection list?
A: “Outsmart the Board Exam introduced me to three powerful concepts: •The Snowball Effect •The 80-20 Rule •Delayed Gratification… Finally, the checklist I recently found. HAHAHA! Hindi na na-update kasi nakalimutan ko na ‘to. Pero yung ‘MUST-HAVE License Collection List’ title talaga, I couldn’t believe it. I just manifested that year, and it came true.”
“Sometimes, you need to make short-term sacrifices for long-term goals. One good book can truly change your life.”
Full Testimonial & Journey
I recently found an old checklist in my notes, something I had completely forgotten about. Seeing it made me smile, as memories of my life-changing journey all flashed back. It reminded me of a quote I once shared after reading Outsmart the Board Exam: “A good book can change your life.” This book truly lived up to its promise, and I owe a lot to it.
A brief backstory: I spent eight years in engineering college, attending several universities before finally graduating in 2020, just as the COVID-19 pandemic was rising. The lockdowns delayed the board exams for over a year and a half, and during that time, I lost touch with my lessons and momentum. I got a job and focused on it, eventually stopping myself from believing that I might ever pass the board exam. But then I came across this book, and everything changed.
Outsmart the Board Exam introduced me to three powerful concepts: The Snowball Effect, The 80-20 Rule, and Delayed Gratification. These principles shifted my mindset from a fixed one to a growth-oriented one. I began to plan everything in detail, ensuring I had a backup plan, thinking, “What if I don’t make it as an engineer? At least I should have an alternative.” By January 2023, I had surrounded myself with people who shared the same goals as mine. We enrolled in a professional education unit earner program, and I balanced this with my full-time job. Every evening, I attended online review sessions for the REE board exam—shoutout to Excel Online Review Center—and on weekends, I attended classes for professional education. I applied everything I learned from the book, cutting out anything that wasn’t important or urgent. By April 2023, I took the REE board exam, and a week later, the results came out—my name was on the list. “Engineer na ako.” Thank you, Lord!
With my education units also completed that same month, I decided to push further and enrolled in a review center again—kudos to FTRC-Merco Branch—for the LPT board exam. Some people questioned why I would pursue this when I was already an engineer. But to me, it made perfect sense—why not make the most of the certificate I had earned? So, after four months of extensive review while working, I took the LPT board exam in September 2023, and three months later, the results came out. I was overjoyed to see that all my friends passed, and so did I, by God’s grace. All of this happened in the same year. Glory to God Almighty!
You see, this book wasn’t just a guide for passing exams; it was a mentor for life. The snowball effect set things in motion, and delayed gratification proved to be worth every sacrifice. Sometimes, you need to make short-term sacrifices for long-term goals. Now, I’m working as a full-time engineer, a part-time college instructor, and an online ESL teacher. One good book can truly change your life. I’m forever grateful to Engr. Virata for being my secret mentor throughout this journey. Who would have thought that among all these books, you only need one to open your eyes to life-changing possibilities?
